Light for Your Path

Faith in Jesus Christ is part of the greatest inheritance you can give or receive.

I was preaching last Sunday about faith. As a child, I can still remember the faith of my Grandmother Anastazie Guidry Dartez. She had a framed print of Jesus Christ praying on his knees at a rock, hanging on her bedroom wall. I have searched for several years all over the internet and in different art and antique shops for that picture to no avail! I had mentioned it during the sermon.

Monday morning when I opened my front door to my surprise there sat a copy of it on my doorstep. I asked everyone who was at the church meeting; none of them had placed the framed picture by our door! The Lord told someone to come to my house and put it there. It was exactly the same print and just as old. I cried for an hour after finding that picture.

I am so thankful to Jesus Christ for my heritage. I grew up in a family that prays and believes Jesus is God and answers prayer. I am so grateful that the path to Jesus was laid out before me. I had a Mother and Grandmother who prayed daily.

The Apostle Paul spoke of such faith being passed down from one generation to another in the following passage: “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.” 2 Timothy 1:5

Keep praying even though you don’t think the situation is changing. Jesus answers prayer. Keep pointing your children down the right path.

Which Bible Should You Use? King James Version vs. New International Version

If you have a book like the New International Version, New American Standard, Revised Standard Version, etc., please look-up these verses: Matthew 17:21 – Matthew 18:11 – Matthew 23:14 –Mark 7:16 – Mark 9:44 – Mark 9:46 – Mark 11:26 – Mark 15:28 – Luke 17:36 – Luke 23:17 – John 5:4– Acts 8:37 – Acts 15:34 – Acts 24:7 – Acts 28:29 – Roman 16:24

Who doesn’t want you to know the facts left out? Satan! He left out Words when he quoted God’s Words to Eve. He left out Words when he quoted God’s Words to Jesus in the wilderness. Satan continues to cause Words to be edited from Jesus’ Holy Bible. In the New Testament alone, there are 64,000 less Words in the New International Version than the King James Version!

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my Words shall not pass away.” Matthew 24:35

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my Words shall not pass away.” Mark 13:31

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my Words shall not pass away.” Luke 21:33

“But the Word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the Word which by gospel is preached unto you.” 1 Peter 1:25

“For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 2:17

Majority Byzantine Greek Manuscripts vs. Minority Edited Gnostic Alexandrian Critical Greek Manuscripts

Majority Byzantine Greek Manuscripts – Greek NT for the King James Version More than 5,000 Greek manuscripts

Edited Minority Gnostic Alexandrian Critical Greek Manuscripts – Greek NT for the New International Version, and most new books. Less than 40 Greek manuscripts.

At Apostolic Theological Seminary and Bible College, we teach Biblical truth! We don’t have a denomination to please! Classes start January 22, 2011. Come to learn more truth and Biblical Greek.

Light for Your Path

Every year our family celebrates Hanukkah or the Feast of the Dedication. Jesus celebrated this feast as we can see in the book of John 10:22, “And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter. 23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.” Our children get so excited about this time of year, because we give them gifts and make ‘Potato Latkes’. We tell again the wonderful story of how our God miraculously kept the Temple candlestick lit for eight days with only one days supply of oil. We then go on to teach them how He came in human flesh as Jesus Christ. The Bible says in John chapter one that all things were made by Him. Verse Five says that the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not. The same chapter teaches that He was in the world and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.

John the Revelator saw Jesus while he was exiled on the Isle of Patmos and described His countenance as the sun shineth in his strength and He said to John, “I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”, Revelation 1:18.

We can give gifts and fix traditional food, and it is such a good thing, but the greatest thing we can give our children is faith in Jesus Christ. No other gift has such lasting value. When we light our Menorah I am always reminded of the old Sunday School song verse we still sing , “This little light of mine. I’m going to let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.”

In Jesus,

Who is Jesus Christ?

If you were to ask most pastors, seminary graduates, people in the pew, ‘who is Jesus Christ’? Their answer would be ‘He is the Son of God’. That answer is true. If you were to ask them, ‘is Jesus God?’ They would probably hesitate as they say, ‘I don’t know.’ When I ask those I would meet, ‘Who is Jesus Christ?’ Most would respond, ‘He is the Son of God.’ Then I would ask, ‘Is Jesus God.’ They would give an excuse as to why they didn’t know who is Jesus Christ! Ask your pastor, priest, friend etc. ‘Who is Jesus Christ?’ Please let me know their answer.
The Holy Bible clearly tells us Jesus Christ is God!
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a Son, and they shall call His name Emanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." Matthew 1:23
“And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.” John 20:28
"And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life." 1 John 5:20
"But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:" (Why is He coming in the likeness of men? Because, He's God!) Philippians 2:7
"And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, ... ." Philippians 2:8
"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. {9} For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." Colossians 2:8-9
"Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. {17} Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen." 1 Timothy 1:16-17
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, ... ." 1 Timothy 3:16
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1
“Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the Sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.” John 5:18

"But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. {9} Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." Hebrews 1:8-9
