Light For Your Path

Psalm 30:11 "Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever."

Maybe for you, Thanksgiving time is not a time of rejoicing, but a time of remembering the joy once shared with a particular loved one. My mother died at Thanksgiving, and it was several years before I could consider it again a happy time. We don’t always understand our trials in life. Certain situations can make God appear cruel instead of loving. We can feel robbed instead of blessed or thankful. Please don’t give up. Hang onto faith like Job did.

Job was a good man in every way. He even got up in the mornings and offered sacrifices in case his family had cursed God in any way (Job 1:5). When his trial was the heaviest, his words were full of sorrow. His own wife had no words of comfort, and did not understand how he could maintain integrity. In Job 42:10, we see the Lord turning around Job’s situation when he prayed for his friends. Yes, God allowed Job to experience pain when He could have prevented it. Job held on to faith when he did not understand his trial and by doing so the Bible says in Job 42:12, “So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning”. How about praying that same scripture from Job 42:12 for your situation? Lord bless the remainder of my life more than the beginning.

May the Lord give “... you beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that you might be called a tree of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified”, Isaiah 61:3.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

In Jesus,
