     Today is a new beginning for me.The Bible speaks of new beginnings. The mercies of God are made new every morning. That is a new beginning. What are beginnings?
Webster defines it as : 

1: the point at which something begins : start
2: the first part 
     So many times people have regrets. Many do not feel their lives are satisfying, yet they will not get up and do anything about it.What is the cause of this? It could be a life that did not have the greatest start. Things happen to people that cause them to be a spiritual cripple who just limps along or crawls along. They are like the lame man at the Gate Beautiful.In Jewish literature it is said that the glory and presence of God used to emanate through this gate.
Today it is called the Golden Gate. The Jews called it

Sha'ar HaRachamim  or the Gate of Mercy. During the Ottoman occupation of Jerusalem a cemetery was built at the gate to keep the Prophet Elijah from returning through it as he is considered a Kohen and supposedly would not be able to enter into a cemetery and be defiled. Well that is just another case of religious misinformation, which by the way in itself keeps people from entering into the mercies of God. The Prophet Elijah would be able to enter this gate anyway. It was assumed that if Elijah could not come into this gate as Jewish Messianic prophecy proclaimed then the Messiah would not be able to return. Let us not go by what man assumes because no man can keep back what God decides He wants to do. That is like Adam and Eve thinking they were covered by a mere apron of leaves. God appeared on the scene and  made them a coat that provided real covering. We cannot trust man's philosophies of life.
 This belief about the Golden Gate/Beautiful was based upon two premises. First, according to Islamic teaching Elijah is a descendant of Aaron, making him a priest or kohen. Secondly, that Jewish priests are not permitted to enter a cemetery. This second premise is not wholly correct because a kohen is permitted to enter a cemetery in which primarily non-Jews are buried such as the one outside the Golden Gate.
     Is it possible that a false concept is keeping you from entering into all the joy of the Lord? Have you been taught a false concept of God that comes from a religious upbringing? Whatever it is that keeps you from starting over just remember you are worth the second, third or even 100th attempt.Maybe it's poor parenting in your past. Hey maybe you've been a poor parent. Whatever the issue is it can be resolved and you can pass it by on the way to peace and success in life. You can have an abundant life.                   
   There are so many walking around claiming to be a Christian but have the doldrums all the time. Who in the world would want what you have? Why are you like this? Is it a learned behavior? Is there a biological reason? It's not normal to always be warring? It's not normal to always be in a Job trial state of mind. If it really is the trial of Job you are in that is one thing, but how about letting the Lord take you to the level of Victory you seek? 
   I have a friend named Dr.Linda Doty who is available and has a course entitled,"Maximum Victory." She is connected to Apostolic Theological Seminary. You are able to take her courses and buy her books. Maybe the re-education is just what you need to bring you to the place you should be. If fasting, praying and being faithful at church services you still find yourself floundering then it may be that you need the knowledge of the Word of God in your situation to help you overcome. Don't think you have to stay where you are. You can have a New Beginning in Jesus Christ whether you are a new Christian, not a Christian yet, or someone who has been serving Jesus Christ for years yet has a limp. We have the Holy Ghost. We are not Job and in his covenant. We are partakers of the Heavenly Gift and a new and better covenant. It is time to notify the old baggage that you have a new set of luggage and are packing the Holy Ghost now.Instead of judging yourself by past failures today just go back to start and do everything the right way. Stop thinking you wish you had your life to live over. You do have it to live over. You have not entered into eternity yet. Do it right this time. Give yourself a chance and a break. You are a person Jesus Christ died on Calvary for. Why live in pity when mercy is so much greater. Take a minute today to forgive yourself for all past failure.
Now move on to forgive all those in the past who have failed you. They are human also. So they did you and everyone else wrong. Let it go. If you hold onto hatred, wrath, unforgiveness it gives that person who wronged you power over your life still. Make them and the circumstance stop bullying you by overcoming it. It is time that the enemy of your soul be given the boot.
Look at theses scripture:
 Ps 103:8 The LORD [is] merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.
Ps 103:9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep [his anger] for ever.
Ps 103:10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
Ps 103:11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, [so] great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
Ps 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, [so] far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Ps 103:13 Like as a father pitieth [his] children, [so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him.
Ps 103:14 For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we [are] dust.
Ps 103:15 [As for] man, his days [are] as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
Ps 103:16 For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
Ps 103:17 But the mercy of the LORD [is] from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;
Ps 103:18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.
Ps 103:19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
Ps 103:20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
Ps 103:21 Bless ye the LORD, all [ye] his hosts; [ye] ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
Ps 103:22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

Light for Your Path

What a beautiful season we are entering into. All the yard work makes me think back to the garden called, “Eden that Adam and Eve tended.” What a beautiful place that must have been. If I like it here on earth so much I know I am going to love Heaven.

I always think of the Scripture in Revelation that describes all eternity with Jesus as this:

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4

Think of it. A beautiful place prepared just for you and me by Jesus Christ, Himself. This is what He said, “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2

Its going to be a wonderful place to be for all eternity with Jesus. We also can read that the Bible teaches the following:

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9

So what is the bottom line? If you don’t like Jesus now, and the life the Bible teaches you

need to live in order to be saved, then why would you want to spend eternity with Him? To save yourself from eternal damnation? Its not going to happen that way. Make a choice to serve Him today before you end up outside of the boat like they did in Noah’s Day. Jesus is coming back for us. Be it one at a time or all at once we need to always be ready. This may be the last day or hour you have to choose? Choose Jesus. Choose life.

“But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Matthew 24:37

What is Life All About?

“And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. 14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? 15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” Luke 12:12-15

Many people today are at odds with each other over things that will not matter when death comes knocking on their door. I like the old joke about a man meeting Peter at heaven’s gate carrying a huge suit case of gold. Peter had him open the suitcase and laughed at the contents. He then asked why in the world was a suitcase of road pavement so important? “The Bible speaks of streets of purest gold. Earthly treasures are not as important when you look at them in perspective. Let’s walk in divine precepts now. Treasure what is important. Treasure your family and friends. This is a new year and many are dieting. How about giving up things like resentment, guilt, unforgiveness and all the things that are spiritual weights this year? I promise you will feel better and look better.

Walking where Jesus really Walked!

Hello Friends,

We were very excited yesterday walking in the exact synagogue where Jesus walked! Walking through the exact door Jesus walked through. Standing in front of the exact ark where Jesus and Paul would have stood to minister.

Yes, we were off the beaten tourist path. It wasn't even listed in the book on ancient synagogues.

Today, we plan on going to another synagogue where Jesus walked! Etc.

Ruins, here we come!!!!

Day Five Day Six Massada Dead Sea Engedi Qumran

We had a glorious time at the Massada site. We stayed at the Hostel at the foot of the Mountain.
We certainly had to overcome our fear of heights riding the cable car that took us to the top.
King Herod built a huge fortress there. It was so awesome to climb to the Northern Palace. We were not looking down on the way up for sure. The view was amazing. You could look out over the Dead Sea to Jordan. The view from the Northern Palace was so beautiful there are not words to describe it. I have to include a picture so everyone can see it. We stayed at a beautiful hostel that had a balcony overlooking the Dead Sea.






The water in the Dead Sea is an aqua which is my favorite color. We watched as people went to the beach there and floated on the water. It is very poisoneous and you are not to drink or get it in your eyes etc. People have died from it. So while it is beautiful it is deadly. The next place we ventured to was the beautiful oasis of Engedi.








We climbed up to the waterfalls to the one that is called David's Waterfall. There I sat while Bruce climbed a bit further. This was fresh water coming from a spring in the middle of the desert. It is hard to imagine until you see it how refreshing it is. In the Bible King David met up with Saul in a cave in Engedi. In the book of Song of Songs the Shulamite woman speaks of Engedi. We were there and I cannot tell you how it felt as there are not enough words and we do not have all day and night. To be in a land that is full of Bible history just boggles my finite mind.








Next we went to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. I never thought while reading the books of the transcriptions that I would stand on that spot. It was completely the desert and you could look at the caves they were found in. There on that spot the Essenes built their worship areas. There were Seven Ritual Baths there. Imagine bathing in white cloth seven times for purification! Once is enough for me daily maybe twice if its been a hard day but seven times? The caves they lived in were so small. It was hard for me to imagine their lives to be anything but harsh yet they lived to try to please God. We are so blessed to live in the U.S.A but I wonder how blessed we really are. Things take us farther from Jesus.

In the Holy Lands



Hello Friends, Day ONE

Israel is a great country!

We are staying at a kubbutz in Merchavia. Today we saw the Sea of Galilee! We took pictures.

Driving a rental car and taking pictures. Our rental car is white with Budget written on both sides and on the back. As the last time I was in Israel, I feel like the signs mean Americans shoot HERE!

McDonald's is great, but they won't put cheese on our hamburgers.

The Orthodox Synagogue service was three and a half hours long! All in Hebrew! Dana sat in the backroom with the other women. Yes, the women know their place. Just kidding, Dana! You know I was just kidding, really!

The shofar blowing was fantastic!!!!!

The weather is cooler than Louisiana's, but it is not cooler by much.

A lot of people here don't speak any English. It is a good thing we were brushing-up on our Hebrew before leaving the States.

Seeking the Face of God

2Ch 7:14 — If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

The Hebrew phrase is 'upon whom my name is called'. That would be the people who
upon whom the Name of Jesus is called.
Many times I have read this passage, but this morning I read the entire chapter setting, and it is so much more than repentance during prayer. If I could get every saint of Jesus to understand that He has to come first, not the job, not the children, not the wife or husband but Jesus. He has to be sought!

Psa 88:13


But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.


If we will turn to Jesus first and lay aside all other plans and seek His will and His face, then we will have revival. It comes no other way.

Apostolic Pentecostals like to sit back and recall the old time revivals, but it's sad that they only continue to look back. Our greatest revival is ahead. We need to put into place the old landmarks of prayer and fasting and seeking the face of Jesus. It's not about personal victory it's about Kingdom Victory for Jesus. It's about the Bride of Jesus Christ coming together and getting ready for the Marriage Supper.
Come Lord Jesus, we pray but oh let us be ready when He does come and let Him not find us prayer less and selfish.
